Alexander died 30 January 1862 in Cawnpore, Oudh, India, at 54 years of age.
He married twice. He married Charlotte Hanson in Agra, North Western Provinces, India, 3 February 1834. Charlotte was born 1814. Charlotte died 29 April 1840 at 25 years of age. He married Matilda Grace Tovey in Paignton, Devon, 9 September 1850. Matilda was born in Bengal, India 31 October 1818.
He was christened 13 February 1807. Attended Bury St. Edmund's Grammar School. Listed as the 5th son of Thomas Boileau of Calcutta. Captain of Bengal Engineers at the time of his wife Charlotte's death. Lieutenant of Engineers at the time of his marriage in 1834. Wrote 'Personal Narrative of a tour through the western states of Rajwara' Calcutta in 1837. A member of the Himalayan Brotherhood at Simla.

Arthur Cadell Tait Boileau was born 4/12/1856. Arthur died 10/02/1925 in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, at
68 years of age. He married Isabella Harriet G. Child 1905. Isabella was born 1879. Isabella

Colonel Arthur Cadell Tait Boileau, Royal Artillery, died at Cheltenham, yesterdsy at the age of 68. The only surviving son of General Alexander Boileau, of the Bengal Engineers, he was born in India a few weeks before the Mutiny broke out and could not leave that country for two years. He served with the Royal Artillery for nearly 32 years at home and at India, Egypt, Baluchistan, Nova Scotia, and Mauritius. He was for five years secretary of the Royal Artillery Institute at Woolwich. He was a well-known Freemason.
In 1901 census he was a widower.
