2. Major-General George² Paton (John¹) was born in Crailing 1/10/1841.

He married twice. He married Ethel Bagot in St. Peter's, Eaton Square, London, 21/01/1873. Ethel was born in South Street, Grosvenor Square, London 20/02/1844. Ethel was the daughter of Major General Edward Richard Bagot and Matilda Perkins. Ethel died 11/10/1885 in Ventnor, Isle of Wight, at 41 years of age. Her body was interred 1885 in Ventnor, Isle of Wight. He married Nancie Walker in St. Peter's, Eaton Square, London, 13/11/1890. Nancie was the daughter of Edward Walker.

Major-General George Paton and Ethel Bagot had the following children:

3 i. Ian Valentine³ Paton was born 1875. DSO, Lieutenant, Royal Scots Fusiliers.

4 ii. Basil George Bagot was born 1876. Lieutenant, South Wales Borderers.
