7. John Fleming Martin² Reid (John¹) was born in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India 12 October 1797. John died 3 March 1859 in Frome, Somerset, at 61 years of age.

He married Jane Elizabeth Stewart in Calcutta, India, 14 July 1823. Jane died before 1851.

He was listed as head of household in the 1851 census in 31 Brunswick Square, Hove, Sussex.

John Fleming Martin Reid and Jane Elizabeth Stewart had the following children:

+ 20 i. Henry Stewart³ Reid was born 22 February 1826.

21 ii. Elizabeth Ann Reid was born in India 1829. Elizabeth died 1872 in Clifton, Gloucestershire, at 43 years of age. She married Charles Trevor Wheler in Guildford, Surrey, 1861. Charles was born in Frome, Somerset 1842. Charles died 1874 in Clifton, Gloucestershire, at 32 years of age. (See Charles Trevor Wheler for the continuation of this line.)

She was listed as a resident in the census report in 31 Brunswick Square, Hove, Sussex, 1851. She was listed as head of household in the 1861 census in Berkley House, Berkley, Somerset.

22 iii. Jane Eliza Reid was born in Calcutta, India 1831. She married William Acraman White in Guildford, Surrey, 1863.

She was listed as a resident in the census report in 31 Brunswick Square, Hove, Sussex, 1851.

23 iv. Clementina Louisa Reid was born in Calcutta, India 1837. She was listed as a resident in the census report in 31 Brunswick Square, Hove, Sussex, 1851. She was listed as a resident in the census report in Berkley House, Berkley, Somerset, 1861. She was listed as head of household in the 1881 census in 14 Westbourn Place, Clifton, Bristol, Gloucestershire. She was listed as head of household in the 1901 census in 45 Pembroke Road, Clifton, Bristol, Gloucestershire.
