1. John William¹ Templer was born in Shapwick, Somerset 1795. John died 22 March 1873 in Bath, Somerset, at 77 years of age.

He married three times. He married Charlotte Wintle in Bengal, India, 18 July 1816. Charlotte died 26 November 1820 in Bengal, India. He married Maria Anne Boileau in St. John's, Calcutta, India, 14 August 1822. Maria was the daughter of Simeon Peter Boileau and Hannah De Renzi. He married Elizabeth Barber in Islington, London, 1858. Elizabeth was born in Kennington, London c1833. She was listed as a resident in the census report in 1 Bathwick Terrace, Bathwick, Bath, Somerset, 1871.

He was listed as head of household in the 1871 census in 1 Bathwick Terrace, Bathwick, Bath, Somerset. He worked for the civil service in Calcutta. Attended Haileybury College, 1811-1812. (FIBIS) Career in India 1813 - 1847. In 1812 he was a 2nd class civil servant - a civil and sessions judge West Burdwan, Bancoorah. (The East India Register and Army List) Also he was special commissioner, under Reg 111 of 1828, for Cuttack. (East India Register and Army List for 1845).

John William Templer and Maria Anne Boileau had the following children:

2 i. Son² Templer was born in Bengal, India 1 August 1823. Son died 1/08/1823 in Bengal, India, at less than one year of age.

3 ii. Son Templer was born in Bengal, India 17 November 1824.

4 iii. Maria Georgiana Templer was born in Bengal, India 27 October 1825. She married Samuel Richard Tickell in India, 1844. Samuel was born in Bengal, India 1811. Samuel died 20 April 1875 at 63 years of age. (See Samuel Richard Tickell for the continuation of this line.)

She was christened in Bengal, India, 22 December 1825. She was listed as a resident in the census report in 1 Bathwick Terrace, Bathwick, Bath, Somerset, 1871. Maria was a lodger 1881 in 7 Bayshill Terrace, Cheltenham, Gloucestershire. She was listed as head of household in the 1891 census in 43 Conduit Road, Bedford, Bedfordshire. She was listed as head of household in the 1901 census in 24 Eaton Rise, Ealing, Middlesex. Charles King, a clergyman, b c. 1827 in India is listed brother-in-law and as lodging along with Maria in the 1881 census.

5 iv. Daughter Templer was born in Bengal, India 26 October 1826.

6 v. Charlotte Lycester Templer was born in Chowringhee, Calcutta, India 16 May 1830. Charlotte died 14 November 1862 in Barakpur, Bengal, India, at 32 years of age. She married William Noel Waller in Bengal, India, 1858. William was born in Farmington, Gloucester. 25 December 1831. He was listed as head of household in the 1881 census in Royal Artillery Barracks, Woolwich, London. (See William Noel Waller for the continuation of this line.)

7 vi. Charles Boileau Templer was born in Patna, Bengal, India 9 August 1832. He was christened in Bandipur, Bengal, India, 19 January 1833.

John William Templer and Elizabeth Barber had the following child:

8 vii. Elizabeth F. Templer was born in Bath, Somerset c1860. She was listed as a resident in the census report in 1 Bathwick Terrace, Bathwick, Bath, Somerset, 1871.
