Edward16 Venables-Vernon (George15 Vernon, Henry14, George13, Henry12, Edward11, Walter10, Thomas9, Humphrey8, Sir Henry7, Sir William6, Sir Richard5, Sir Richard4, Sir William3, Sir Robert2, William1)(28) was born 10/10/1757. Edward died 5/11/1847 in Bishopthorpe Palace, York, at 90 years of age. His body was interred 1847 in Stanton Harcourt Parish Church, Oxfordshire.

He married Anne Leveson-Gower in St. Martin-in-the-Fields, London, 5/02/1784. Anne was born 1761. Anne was the daughter of Granville Leveson-Gower. Anne died 16/11/1832 in Bishopthorpe Palace, York, at 71 years of age.

Archbishop of York. In June 1830, his cousin, William Harcourt, third Earl Harcourt, died leaving him his estates so as a consequence he changed his name to Harcourt.

Edward Venables-Vernon and Anne Leveson-Gower had the following children:

child 84 i. Caroline17 Venables-Vernon.

child 85 ii. Leveson Venables-Vernon. He married Caroline Mary Peachey 19/08/1815. Caroline was the daughter of John Peachey. Took the name Harcourt in 1831 but retained Vernon. Installed as chancellor of York on 4 August, 1827. Died without issue.

child 86 iii. William Venables-Vernon.

child 87 iv. George Granville Venables-Vernon was born 1785. He was christened Sudbury, Derbyshire, 11/09/1785.

child + 88 v. Admiral Frederick Edward Venables-Vernon was born 1790.

child 89 vi. Henry Venables-Vernon was born 1791. He was christened Sudbury, Derbyshire, 19/08/1791.
