71. Edward¹⁶ Venables-Vernon (George¹⁵ Vernon, Henry¹⁴, George¹³, Henry¹², Edward¹¹, Walter¹⁰, Thomas⁹, Humphrey⁸, Sir Henry⁷, Sir William⁶, Sir Richard⁵, Sir Richard⁴, Sir William³, Sir Robert², William¹)⁽²⁸⁾ was born 10/10/1757. Edward died 5/11/1847 in Bishopthorpe Palace, York, at 90 years of age. His body was interred 1847 in Stanton Harcourt Parish Church, Oxfordshire.

He married Anne Leveson-Gower in St. Martin-in-the-Fields, London, 5/02/1784. Anne was born 1761. Anne was the daughter of Granville Leveson-Gower. Anne died 16/11/1832 in Bishopthorpe Palace, York, at 71 years of age.

Archbishop of York. In June 1830, his cousin, William Harcourt, third Earl Harcourt, died leaving him his estates so as a consequence he changed his name to Harcourt.

Edward Venables-Vernon and Anne Leveson-Gower had the following children:

84 i. Caroline¹⁷ Venables-Vernon.

85 ii. Leveson Venables-Vernon. He married Caroline Mary Peachey 19/08/1815. Caroline was the daughter of John Peachey. Took the name Harcourt in 1831 but retained Vernon. Installed as chancellor of York on 4 August, 1827. Died without issue.

86 iii. William Venables-Vernon.

87 iv. George Granville Venables-Vernon was born 1785. He was christened Sudbury, Derbyshire, 11/09/1785.

+ 88 v. Admiral Frederick Edward Venables-Vernon was born 1790.

89 vi. Henry Venables-Vernon was born 1791. He was christened Sudbury, Derbyshire, 19/08/1791.
