2. John Theophilus2 Ussher (Richard Beverley1) was born 4 September 1823. John died 1904 at 80 years of age.

He married Annabella Ross. Annabella was born in Dublin, Ireland 1823. Annabella was the daughter of Captain Kenneth Tolmie Ross. Annabella died 1910 at 87 years of age. Entered the army in May 1843, and retired on becoming a full colonel in 1880, having by then completed nearly 38 years service on full pay. He served in the field, in the Campaign of 1844-45, in the Southern Mahratta Country, with the 22nd Regiment and was present at the capture of the forts of Panala and Pawangarh. Was in India during the mutiny of 1857-58, with the 87th Regiment, and in the Murree Hills when that station was attacked by a large force of hill men. He served on board the ship Eastern Monarch, with a large detachment of invalids when she was blown up and destroyed by fire on 3 Jun 1859, at which time he lost everything he had on board. He was for many years a Staff Officer of Pensioners and had to retire on account of age.

child 5 iii. Alfred Lestock Ussher was born in India 1857. He was listed as a resident in the census report in 1 Kidbrook Villas, Shooters Hill Road, Kidbrook, London, 1881. He was listed as a resident in the census report in Dalkeith, St. Romans Road, Portsea, Hampshire, 1891. Lieutenant, 22nd Regiment, retired from ill health on a pension.

child 6 iv. Hamilton O'Brien Ussher was born in India 21 December 1857. Hamilton died 1891 in St. George's Hanover Square, London, at 33 years of age. He was christened in Rawal Pindee, Punjab, India, 17 January 1858. He was listed as a resident in the census report in 1 Kidbrook Villas, Shooters Hill Road, Kidbrook, London, 1881. Lieutenant, 3rd Battalion Gordon Highlanders, served in Bechuanaland with Methuens Horse.

child 7 v. Allan Vesey Ussher was born in Dublin, Ireland 1861. He married an unknown person c1890.
