1. John¹ Bruce was born 1784. John died 1872 at 88 years of age.

He married Sarah Austin. Sarah was the daughter of Hugh Williams Austin.

Added the name price after inheriting the estate of Duffryn Aberdare from his cousin Thomas Pryce in 1837.

John Bruce and Sarah Austin had the following children:

+ 3 ii. Henry Austin Bruce 1st Baron Aberdare was born 16/04/1815.
