First Generation

1. (Reverend Thomas Clements1 Browne was born in India 28 October 1812. (Reverend died 1851 in Clifton, Bristol, at 38 years of age.

He married Louisa Macleod Edmonstone in Leamington Priors, Warwick, 9 June 1842. Louisa was born in Calcutta, Bengal, India 26 November 1814. Louisa was the daughter of Neil Benjamin Edmonstone and Charlotte Anne Friell. Louisa died 1871 in Hastings, Sussex, at 56 years of age. She was christened 19 December 1814. She was listed as head of household in the 1851 census in Bradstone Lodge, Richmond Park, Clifton, Somerset. She was listed as head of household in the 1861 census in Walton Villa, Clifton, Somerset. Louisa was a lodger 1871 in 17 Grand Parade, Eastbourne, Sussex.

He was christened in Fort William, Calcutta, India, 19 November 1812. Son of Marmaduke Williamson Browne of Calcutta. He attended Trinity College, Dublin and then Magdalen Hall, Oxford. 23 in 1836. I think he must be the Thomas whose death was registered at Clifton in 1851.

child 3 ii. Maria Louisa Browne was born in Ipswich, Suffolk 1844. Maria died 1911 in Kensington, London, at 67 years of age. She was listed as a resident in the census report in Bradstone Lodge, Richmond Park, Clifton, Somerset, 1851. She was listed as a resident in the census report in Walton Villa, Clifton, Somerset, 1861. Maria was a lodger 1871 in 17 Grand Parade, Eastbourne, Sussex. She was listed as a resident in the census report in 32 Dorset Square, St. Marylebone, London, 1881.
