6. Simeon² Droz (John Peter¹) was born in Dublin, Ireland 1/02/1742. Simeon died 1821 at 79 years of age.

He married twice. He married Frances Clara Boulet 2/09/1762. He married Mary Ashe in Bengal, India, 1/03/1777. Mary was the daughter of Mr. Ashe.

He made a will 23/03/1796. Simeon's will was probated 13/11/1821. Started the first Literary magazine in Ireland in 1742. Lived at Portland Street, Bath.

12 i. Louisa Ann³ Droz was born 1772. Louisa died 12/05/1773 at 1 year of age. Her body was interred 12/05/1773. She was christened in Calcutta, Bengal, India, 23/03/1772.

13 ii. Maria Magdalen Droz was born c1773. She married Mr. Hawkins.

She was christened in Patna, Bengal, India, 23 September 1773. Mentioned in her father's will as being married to a Dawkins or Hawkins, said she was the oldest daughter.

14 iii. Charlotte Sophia Droz was born 1776. She married Andrew Black in Bengal, India, 10 November 1791. (See Andrew Black for the continuation of this line.)

She was christened in Calcutta, Bengal, India, 20 May 1776.

Simeon Droz and Mary Ashe had the following children:

15 iv. Henry William Droz was born in India 1778. Henry died 18 November 1824 in Cossimbazar, Bengal, India, at 46 years of age. His body was interred 19 November 1824 in Berhampur, Orissa, India. He married an unknown person.

He was baptized in Calcutta, Bengal, India, 15/02/1778. Religion: religion unknown.

16 v. Louisa Alicia Droz was born 1779. She married Reverend Edwin Stock.

She was christened in Calcutta, Bengal, India, 30/07/1779.

17 vi. Harriet Sophia Droz was born 1782. Harriet died 5 February 1852 at 70 years of age. She married Henry Bevan in St. Mary, St. Marylebone, London, England, 26 April 1802. Henry was born in London 4 November 1776. Henry died 11 September 1860 at 83 years of age. He was christened in St.Boltolph, Bishopsgate, London, 4 December 1776. He was listed as head of household in the 1841 census in Hamilton Place, St. Georges Hanover Square, London. 18 vii. Simeon John Droz was born 1784. He was christened in Calcutta, Bengal, India, 2 January 1785.

19 viii. Benjamin William Alexander Droz was born in Walcot, Bath, Somerset 17/08/1794. Benjamin died 7 May 1821 in Gantur, Madras, India, at 26 years of age. He married Matilda Wahab in Vizianagram, Madras, India, 30 November 1818. Matilda was born in India 24 December 1797. Matilda died 29 August 1868 in 27 Dawson Place, London, England, at 70 years of age. Her body was interred 2 September 1868 in Kensal Green Cemetary, London. She was listed as a resident in the census report in Albany Street, Regents Park, London, 1841.

He was christened in Walcot, Bath, Somerset, 11 September 1794.
