5. Simon⁴ Harcourt 1st Earl Harcourt (Simon³, Simon², Sir Philip¹) was born 1714. Simon died 16/09/1777 in Nuneham Park, Nuneham Courtenay, Oxfordshire, at 63 years of age. His body was interred 24/09/1777 in Stanton Harcourt, Oxfordshire.

He married Rebecca Le Bas 16/10/1735. Rebecca was the daughter of Charles Sambourne Le Bas and Mary Moyer. Rebecca died 16/01/1765.

2nd Viscount Harcourt. Politician and administrator in Ireland. In 1777 he fell into a well at Nuneham Park while rescuing a favourite dog and drowned.

Simon Harcourt 1st Earl Harcourt and Rebecca Le Bas had the following children:

6 i. George Simon⁵ Harcourt 2nd Earl Harcourt was born 1/08/1736. George died 25/04/1809 at 72 years of age. He married Elizabeth Venables-Vernon 26/09/1765. Elizabeth was born 21/01/1746. Elizabeth was the daughter of George Vernon Baron of Kinderton and Martha Harcourt. Elizabeth died 25/01/1826 at 80 years of age. Died without issue.

7 ii. William Harcourt 3rd Earl Harcourt was born 20/03/1743. William died 17/06/1830 in St. Leonard's Hill, at 87 years of age. His body was interred 1830 in Stanton Harcourt, Oxfordshire. He married Mary Danby in Kensington, London, 3/09/1778. Mary was the daughter of Reverend William Danby. Had no issue.
