1. John Abraham Francis¹ Hawkins was born in Dimapur, Bengal, India 22 December 1803. John died 1 May 1879 in England, at 75 years of age.

He married Margaret Edmonstone Macleod in Calcutta, Bengal, India, 25 January 1836. Margaret was born in India 16 December 1816. Margaret was the daughter of Duncan Macleod and Henrietta Caroline Lestock Friell. She was christened 18 April 1817.

He was christened in Dimapur, Bengal, India, 6 February 1804.

John Abraham Francis Hawkins and Margaret Edmonstone Macleod had the following children:

2 i. John Mcleod² Hawkins was born 11 December 1837. His body was interred 23 February 1838. He was christened 5 February 1838.

3 ii. Robert Mcleod Hawkins was born in India 11 March 1839. He married Agnes Charlotte Augusta Marshall in Beckenham, Kent, 1865.

He was christened in St Thomas', Calcutta, India, 30 March 1839. John Abraham Francis HAWKINS was christened 6 Feb 1804 in Denapore, Bengal, India. He was a Judge in the Supreme Court of Calcutta after being a magistrate in Baraset. He was a founding member of the Bengal Athletic Club. He married Jan 25 1836 in Calcutta, with Margaret Edmonstone MCLEOD, daughter of Duncan MCLEOD and Henrietta FRIELL. He died May 1 1879 in England where he had retired. He had a son Robert McLeod HAWKINS who was also born in India, 1839, and eventually became a minister when his plans for life in India did not work out.
