9. William⁵ Keith 5th Earl Marischal (George⁴, William³, William², Robert¹) was born 1585. William died 2/10/1635 in Dunotter Castle, Kincardineshire, at 50 years of age. His body was interred 26/12/1635 in Dunotter Church.

He married Lady Mary Erskine 1609. Mary was the daughter of John Erskine 2nd Lord Mar and Lady Mary Stuart. Mary signed a marriage contract with William Keith 5th Earl Marischal 12/10/1609.

William signed a marriage contract with Lady Mary Erskine 12/10/1609. Naval officer.

William Keith 5th Earl Marischal and Lady Mary Erskine had the following children:

14 i. George⁶ Keith 7th Earl Marischal.

15 ii. Sir Robert Keith.

16 iii. Alexander Keith. Alexander died c1654.

17 iv. John Keith 1st Earl of Kintore. He married Lady Margaret Hamilton.

18 v. Mary Keith. Married to John, Lord Kinport.

19 vi. Jean Keith. Married to Alexander, Lord Forbes of Pitsligo.

20 vii. Anne Keith.

+ 21 viii. William Keith 6th Earl of Marischal was born 1614.
