1. Duncan¹ Macleod was born in Tarbat, Ross, Scotland 20 February 1780. Duncan died 8 June 1856 in 3 Clifton Place, Hyde Park, London, at 76 years of age.

He married Henrietta Caroline Lestock Friell in Calcutta, Bengal, India, 28 April 1804. Henrietta was born 7 October 1785. Henrietta was the daughter of Peter Friell and Anne Charlotte Boileau. Henrietta died 25 November 1830 in Calcutta, Bengal, India, at 45 years of age.

Duncan Macleod and Henrietta Caroline Lestock Friell had the following children:

2 i. Jane Alicia² Macleod. She married James Innes. (See James Innes for the continuation of this line.)

3 ii. Duncan Crawford Macleod was born 31 May 1808. Duncan died 16 June 1833 in Gyah, India, at 25 years of age. He was christened 13 June 1808. Bengal Factor.

4 iii. Sir Donald Friell Macleod was born in Fort William, Calcutta, India 6 May 1810. Donald died 28 November 1872 in St. George's Hanover Square, London, at 62 years of age. He married Frances Mary (Fanny) Montgomery 10 October 1854. Frances was born in Azimghur, India 10 October 1835. Frances died 22 August 1855 in India, at 19 years of age. Her body was interred 1855 in Dharmsala, Orissa, India. She was christened in Azimghur, India, 17 January 1836.

He was christened in Calcutta, Bengal, India, 31 May 1810. He was listed as head of household in the 1871 census in 1 Clarendon Road, Kensington, London. Lieutenant Governor of the Punjab, 1865 - 1870.

5 iv. Henrietta Peach Macleod was born in Lucknow, Oudh, India 21 September 1811. Henrietta died 10 July 1854 in 3 Clifton Place, Sussex Sq. Hyde Park, London., at 42 years of age. She married Robert Boileau Pemberton in Calcutta, Bengal, India, 7 April 1832. Robert was born in Nevis, West Indies 21 June 1798. Robert was the son of John Butler Pemberton and Harriett Boileau. She was christened in Lucknow, Oudh, India, 13 December 1811.

6 v. Margaret Edmonstone Macleod was born in India 16 December 1816. She married John Abraham Francis Hawkins in Calcutta, Bengal, India, 25 January 1836. John was born in Dimapur, Bengal, India 22 December 1803. John died 1 May 1879 in England, at 75 years of age. He was christened in Dimapur, Bengal, India, 6 February 1804. She was christened 18 April 1817.

7 vi. Son Macleod was born in Bengal, India 7 January 1819.

8 vii. George Forbes Macleod was born in Calcutta, Bengal, India 29 June 1825. George died 13 October 1850 in Amritsar, Punjab, India, at 25 years of age. He was christened in Calcutta, Bengal, India, 4 November 1825.
