after a course of arduous service
particularly at Walcheren & in the Peninsular War
for his gallant conduct in which he was
rewarded by his Sovereign with many medals
died of Consumption, May 13th 1820.
The Revd James Worsley M.A. was the second son of
Sir Edward Worsley of Gatcombe House by Dame Elizabeth
daughter of Sir John Miller, Bart, and Grand-daughter of
Sir William Meux of Kingston, Bart, and Great Grand-daughter
of Sir John Meux, Bart, by Dame Elizabeth, daughter of
Sir Richard Worsley, Bart.
Sir Edward Worsley was descended from John Worsley, a
younger Branch of the Appuldurcombe family, and Brother
of Sir Richard Worsley, created a Baronet, June 11th 1511
