  General Notes:

Fifth Baron of Bennochy in Fifeshire. Succeeded his brother. Dr.
Whytt was made Professor of Edinburgh University in 1747. Appointed
First Physician to the King in Scotland.

Robert married Louisa Balfour, daughter of James Balfour, 1st Laird Of Pilrig and Louisa Hamilton, in 1743. (Louisa Balfour was born in 1718 in Pilrig House, Edinburgh and died in 1764.)
