The Hon. Mrs. Bruce, who died on Wednesday at Alassio at the age of
80, was Emily, daughter of General Sir William McMurdo. She was
married in 1882 to the Hon. William Napier Bruce, C.H., C.B., who died
in 1936. She leaves a son, Lieutenant-Colonel W. F. Bruce, D.S.O.,
M.C., of the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries.

1. She appeared on the census in 1891 in Tower Hill, Dorking, Surrey.

2. She appeared on the census in 1901 in 34 Leinster Gardens, Paddington, London.

3. She appeared on the census in 1911 in 14 Cranley Gardens, London. ¹⁰

4. Resided: 15 December 1937, Casa Montagu, Alassio, Italy. ¹³

5. She had an estate probated on 18 February 1938 in London. ¹³

Emily married William Napier Bruce, son of Henry Austin Bruce, 1st Baron Aberdare and Norah Creina Blanche Napier, in 1882 in Fulham, London.¹⁰ (William Napier Bruce was born on 1 May 1858 in Aberdare, Glamorgan, Wales and died on 20 March 1936 in 21 Bennett Street, Bath, Somerset ¹³.)
