Major-General Arthur Thomas Moore, C.B., V.C., of Holywood, County
Down joined the East India Company's service in 1850, and was posted
to the 3rd Bombay Light Cavalry. He took part in the Persian Mutiny
campaign, and was afterwards with Sir Hugh Rose's force in Central
India.

Arthur married Annie Prentice, daughter of Henry Leslie Prentice and Anne Dobbin. (Annie Prentice was born in 1833 and died in 1922.)
