General Notes: Educated at Christ Church College, Oxford; matriculated 5 July 1831; BA 1834, MA 1837. Rector of Longbridge and Kingston Deverill, Wiltshire 1837-1852, Canon of Canterbury 1845-1852, when he seceded to the Church of Rome and was ordained Deacon in March 1886. Charles married. Charles next married Harriet Frances Bagot, daughter of Richard Bagot and Lady Harriet Villiers, on 18 July 1837 in St. George's Hanover Square, London. (Harriet Frances Bagot was born on 26 July 1816 in The Rectory, Blithfield, Staffordshire, died on 5 January 1881 in 40 Redcliffe Gardens, South Kensington, London and was buried on 8 January 1881 in Old Church, Mortlake, Surrey.) |
