A double wedding was solemnized yesterday at St. George's Church, Hanover Square, when the Right Hon. Sir Frederick Peel, second son of the late Sir Robert Peel, was married to Miss Janet Pleydell Bouverie, and the Hon. Alexander Francis Henry Campbell, 12th Lancers, youngest son of the Earl of Cawdor, to Miss Constance Pleydell Bouverie, the brides being the second and fourth daughters of Mr. Philip Pleydell Bouverie, of Brymore, Somerset. A select party, consisting of the near relatives of the families, attended at the ceremony, including, among others, Julia, Countess of Jersey, and Mr. Branding, Viscount Emlyn, M.P., Lady Herbert of Lea, the Hon. Mrs. Glyn, the Hon. Francis and Mrs. Stonor, Mr. Courtenay and Lady Muriel Boyle, Sir Henry and Lady Rawlinson, Sir Cecil Beadon, Mr. and Mrs. A'Court, Colonel and Mrs. Moncrieffe, Colonel Ellis, Mr. A. Peel, M.P., and Mrs. Peel, Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Seymour, Mr. Cavendish, Mr. Murdoch, Miss Constance Mildmay, Mr. A. Sanford and Misses Sanford. The wedding party assembled punctually at half-past 11 o'clock. At the entrance to the aisle there was quite an array of bridesmaids, each of the sisters having six. Miss Janet Bouverie's bridesmaids were Miss Pleydell Bouverie, her sister, Miss Ethel Sanford, Miss St. John Mildmay, Miss Goddard, Miss Maud Glyn and Miss Ella Peel, niece of the bridegroom; and Miss Constance Bouverie's were Miss Mary P. Bouverie, her sister, Miss Crawford, cousin of the bridegroom, Miss Alice P. Bouverie, Miss Sanford, Miss A'Court, and Miss Seymour. Sir Frederick Peel was accompanied by Captain Shelby; and the Hon. Alexander F.H. Campbell by Captain the Hon. Walter J. Stewart (12th Lancers) as best men. Both brides arrived at half-past 11, and at once passed to the Commission table, followed by their bridesmaids. The officiating clergyman was the Rev. C. Arundell St. John Mildmay, M.A., rector of Denton, Norfolk, assisted by the Rev. Philip Deedes, M.A., rector of Nether Broughton, Leicestershire, and the Rev. William Bouverie Trevelyan. The wedding party, numbering between 60 and 70, reassembled at Mr. and Mrs. Pleydell Bouverie's residence in Hill Street, Berkeley Square, to breakfast. Early in the afternoon Sir Frederick and Lady Peel took their departure for Norton Hall, near Daventry, and the Hon. Alexander Campbell and his bride left at the same time for Burwood, near Cobham.

Janet married Right Honorable Sir Frederick Peel, son of Sir Robert Peel and Unknown, on 3 September 1879 in St. George's Church, Hanover Square, London.⁷⁹⁸ (Right Honorable Sir Frederick Peel died on 6 June 1906 in 32 Chesham Place, London ¹³.)
