Alan la Zouche, Lord Zouche of Ashby 801General Notes: Having distinguished himself in the wars of Gascony, and Scotland, was summoned to parliament by Edward I as a Baron, 26 January, 1297 and had regular summonses from that period until 7th Edward II, 26 November 1313. In the 5th Edward II, his lordship was constituted governor of Rockingham Castle, in Northamptonshire, and steward of Rockingham Forest. 801 Alan married Eleanor de Segrave, daughter of Nicholas de Segrave and Unknown. |
