The marriage took place yesterday at the parish church, Llangollen, of Major Stanley Douglas Douglas-Jones, R.A., of Rhosynwst, Glyndyfrdwy, youngest son of the late Colonel D. F. Douglas-Jones, R.A., and the late Mrs. Douglas-Jones, and Miss Priscilla Scarlett Smith, eldest daughter of the Rev. Sidney and Mrs. Scarlett Smith, of Dinbren Hall, near Llangollen. The bride's father officiated, assisted by the Rev. W. Alcuin Jones and the Rev. D. C. Davies. The bride, who was given away by her brother, Mr. S. L. Scarlett Smith, wore a dress of rose-coloured angora, with a silver-fox fur (the gift of her godmother, Mrs. Luard), and a small, black felt hat, trimmed with fur to match. She wore also a diamond star pendant (a gift from the bridegroom) and a spray of red rose-buds. Lieutenant-Colonel R. P. Varwell, R.A., was best man. There was no reception, on account of the war.
Stanley married Priscilla Scarlett Smith, daughter of Reverend Sidney Scarlett Smith and Unknown, on 17 November 1939 in Llangollen Parish Church.54
