Joseph Bardgett ²⁰¹

  General Notes:

Clergyman. Traced his forebears back to a certain Edward Bardgett a landowner and yeoman in Cumberland who lived in Queen Elizabeth's reign. Musician, poet and almanaclist. Several generations later the fortune estates had been dissapated. William inherited 2 cottages worth £160 - all that was left. He seems, however, to have ended up quite well off. He was a corn
merchant.
