Bertram married Ysolde Cicely Bagot, daughter of Reverend Lewis Richard Charles Bagot and Celia Cator Jodrell, on 12 October 1899 in Newara Eliya, Ceylon. (Ysolde Cicely Bagot was born on 28 November 1873 in The Rectory, East Bradenham, christened on 6 January 1874 in The Rectory, East Bradenham and died on 12 October 1964 in The Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital, Exeter, Devon ¹³.)
