Major Wyndham Paulet St. John-Mildmay, late The Rifle Brigade, died on
Friday of double pneumonia, in his eightieth year. The eldest son of
the Rev. C. A. St. John-Mildmay, he was one of four brothers who all
went to Winchester. He served in the Afghan War of 1878-9, and
formerly held a commission in the North Somerset Yeomanry. He married
in 1888 the Hon. Alice Katherine Hamilton-Russell, daughter of the
eighth and sister of the present Viscount Boyne.
