The marriage took place yesterday, at St. Margaret's, Westminster, of Lieutenant-Commander Stephen Lyttelton, D.S.O., R.N., son of the late Right Rev. the Hon. Arthur Lyttelton, Bishop of Southampton, and Maureen, only child of Mr. Harold Smith, of 6, Dean's-yard, Westminster. The service conducted by the Rev. the Hon. Albert Lyttelton and the Rev. the Hon. C. Lyttelton, C.F., and the bride was given away by her father. She wore a gown of ivory crêpe de Chine and a long broché train falling from the shoulders. The veil was of plain tulle, with a broad worked border, and was fastened with a small wreath of orange blossom and myrtle. The bridesmaids, Miss Valencia Lancaster, Miss Kathleen Harold, and Miss Betty Bushby (Miss K. Gascoyne, who was to have been a fourth bridesmaid, was unable to be present owing to illness) were dressed in different coloured crêpe de Chine - one in primrose, another in Nattier blue, and the third in pale grey - and they wore hats with black charmeuse crowns, with wide tulle and silver brims tied with silver ribbon. They carried old-fashioned posies of flowers. The bridegroom was attended by his brother, Lieutenant-Colonel A. G. Lyttelton, M.G.C., as best man, and there was a guard of honour of blue-jackets from his late ship.
Stephen married Maureen Smith, daughter of Harold Smith and Unknown.
