bullet  General Notes:

Left France in 1685; entered the "mousquetaires" of Brandenbourg, where he remained until 1689, when he was made captain in the Horse Grenadiers, which were reduced in 1697. He then attached himself to M. le Comte Christophe de Dona, marshal-general and minister of state at Brandenbourg, whom he followed in his embassy to England. He was at the siege of Huy in 1694, at the siege and taking of Namur in 1695 by William III of England; and at the taking of Kenisewort, de Veuls, Kempen, and Linn in 1702. He was made captain-lieutenant of the Marquis de Vignole's company in Schoening's regiment, and eventually captain of that regiment of cavalry in the service of Brandenbourg in 1705. He was at the battle of Oudenarde where he was the first who attacked the French troops with his squadron. He was killed by a blow from a fusil on the head, in the trenches before Tournay, whilst watching the attack of General de Saxe Schuberbourg, and was interred before the Standard. 842
