Final appointment Chief Secretary to Government 1837; Member of Council; Chief Judge of S. D. & F. A. He was part of the Grand Jury in Bombay in 1826. Governor of Bombay, Jul 6 1846 - 23 Jan 1847.

Lestock next married Jane Boileau, daughter of Lieutenant Colonel Samuel Brandram Boileau and Frances Trew Bigham, on 16 June 1842 in Byculla, Bombay, India.²³¹ (Jane Boileau was born on 28 June 1824 in Dublin, Ireland and died on 3 September 1903 in Paddington, London.)
