George Abraham Gibbs ¹¹⁴³

  General Notes:

Resided at Exeter, and who succeeded to Pytt, in Clist St George, as heir-at-law to his great uncle, George Gibbs, in 1723. Surgeon. Had fve sons and six daughters .

1795. The last Will of George Abraham Gibbs of Exeter, Surgeon. Leaves all his lands in Clyst St. George and Clyst St. Mary, " with any other lands that I am at present or may hereafter be possessed of or entitled to," to his most dearly beloved and excellent wife Anne Gibbs, whom he makes his Sole Executrix and Sole Trustee for his children, leaving her also all monies and other personal propeity. In a codicil of the same date as the will he begs his brother* John Gibbs, and his friends, William Pitfield, Edward Addicot, and John Mallett, to assist his wifef in her arrangement of his aiTairs after his death, leaving to each a set of books worth five guineas. In a codicil dated April 26th, 1775, he leaves Pitfield and Addicot 10 guineas each, and to Pitfield his dearest and best friend whatever set of books he likes. He appoints no Trustees because he is sure that his brother and said three friends will do all that is necessary.

George married someone Anne Vicary, daughter of Anthony Vicary and Elizabeth Munckley, on 22 December 1747 in St. Petrock's, Exeter, Devon.¹¹⁴³ (Anne Vicary was born c 1722 ¹¹⁴³, christened on 4 November 1722 in The Mint Chapel, Exeter,¹¹⁴³ died on 11 August 1803 ¹¹⁴³ and was buried on 18 August 1803 in Clyst St. George, Devon ¹¹⁴³.)
