Walrond, Sir William Hood, Bart. (Devonshire, North-East, or Tiverton) (C.), of Bradfield, Columpton, and New Court, Topsham, eld. s. of Sir John Walrond Walrond, first baronet, by the Hon. Frances Caroline Hood, daughter of second Baron Bridport, b. 1849, educated at Eton, and served for a period in the Grenadier Guards. Has been lieut.-colonel of the 1st Devon Rifle Volunteers from 1877, and hon. colonel from 1889, is a J.P. and D.L. for Devonshire, was a Junior Lord of the Treasury in 1885-6, and again from 1886 (acting as second 'whip'). M., Elizabeth Katherine, d. and heiress of the late Mr. James Pitman, of Dunchidcock House, Devon. M.P. East Devon 1880-5, and for Tiverton division from 1885.
William married Elizabeth Katherine Pitman, daughter of James Pitman and Unknown.
