The death is announced of the Rev. Peter Leopold Dyke-Acland, Prebendary and Sub-Dean of Exeter Cathedral, which took place on the 24 inst. at his residence in Exeter, in his 81st year. He was the fifth son of Sir Thomas Dyke Acland, the 10th baronet, and the brother of the 11th baronet and of Sir Henry Wentworth Dyke Acland, till lately Regius Professor of Medicine in the University of Oxford. He graduated B.A. at Christ Church, Oxford, in 1841, M.A. in 1844, and L.Th. at the University College of Durham in 1843. He was ordained by the Bishop of Exeter in 1843, and two years later he was presented to the living of Broad Clyst, Devon, where he remained vicar for 51 years. He was appointed Prebendary of Exeter in 1866, and Sub-Dean in 1887. In 1845 he was married to Julia, daughter of the Rev. Benjamin Barker, rector of Shipdam, and by her he had issue, three sons and one daughter. He was married a second time in 1872 to Julie, daughter of Herr Philip Wappner, of Düsseldorf.
