Lettice Fitzgerald, Baroness of Offaly ^56,664

Baroness Offaly was the daughter of Gerald, Lord Offaly (d. 1580) and granddaughter of Gerald, 11th Earl of Kildare. In April, 1642, her castle was besieged by the rebels and she conducted an heroic defence in person. 'As the baroness was looking out of a window, a shot happening to strike the wall beside her, she immediately with her handkerchief wiped the spot, showing how little she care for the attempts of the assailants.'

Lettice married Sir Thomas Digby, son of Sir George Digby and Unknown. (Sir Thomas Digby died on 24 May 1618 and was buried in 1618 in Coleshill, Berkshire.)
