The estates of Charles Arthur Shand, William Alfred Byam Shand and
Jane Byam Shand were incumbered and put up for sale in 1888. They
included: Fitche's Creek, Cedar Valley; Will Blizards; Tomlintons;
Paynters; Gunthorpes; Donovans and Cassada Garden, all of which were
in Antugua.
Charles married Alice Howard Hardtman Berkeley, daughter of Thomas Berkeley Hardtman Berkeley and Alice Hart Rawlins, on 30 October 1877 in St. George's Church, Antigua, West Indies. (Alice Howard Hardtman Berkeley was born in 1855.)
