 General Notes:
Of Roseau, Dominica. The island's Crown Attorney. He educated his daughters at home because the schools on the island were Catholic and the Byam Shand were of the Anglican faith.

"Francis arrived in Dominica in the early 1900's to work as an attorney - a handsome, clean-shaven, pale and unsmiling man with sad, penetrating eyes... he immediately became one of Dominica's most eligible batchelors and a favourite of the Nicholls girls."
Francis married Elfreda Millicent Nicholls.
