Thomas next married Elizabeth Bromley, daughter of Sir Robert Howe Bromley and Anne Wilson, on 4 January 1869. (Elizabeth Bromley was born in 1824, died on 8 February 1880 in Shepeard's Hotel, Cairo, Egypt and was buried in Cairo, Egypt.) The cause of her death was Typhoid fever.
